Funeral services were held Sunday May 3rd at the home of Mrs. Cecelia Van Kirk for Mrs. Mary Frazier who passed away at her home in Crown Point, Indiana Friday May 1st.
Rev. H. P. Young (Methodist Church) had charge of the service, assisted by Rev. M. L. Scott. Music was furnished by Misses Alice Kegley and Harriet Pullman with Mrs. R. P. Galt as accompanist.
Pall bearers were: G.A. Spelbring, James Burgoin, C.A. Moore, J.E. Flanagan, Elton Lawson, and Mark Swarts.
Mrs. Mary Melissa Frazier whose maiden name was Mary Cross, was born at Newcomerstown (Spelling-Newtown?) Ohio August 2nd, 1850. She died at Crown Point, Indiana May 1st, 1936.
She was united in marriage in 1872 to J. A. Frazier at Dallas, Iowa. They came to Pottawattamie County to live and were among the pioneer residents of this locality. Eight children, three girls and 5 boys, were born to them of which four survive-their names being Mrs. James Darby, County Bluffs, Iowa, Mrs. Eva Reed of Crown Point, Indiana, Harry Frazier of Crown Point and Frank Frazier of Kansas City.
Her busband departed this life about eight years ago, since which time she has made her home at Crown Point, with her grandson, William Gentlemen.
Mrs. Frazier was since her childhood a devoted member of the Methodist church and with her husband's family long connected with the Silver City Church. You who knew them so well will know the sacrifices they endured and the help they gave to the church through the years.
She lived a life of usefulness as a teacher, a mother, a church woman, a neighbor and a friend.
Those from out of town attended the funeral Sunday for Mrs. Mary Frazier were: Mrs. James Darby and daughter Eva of Council Bluffs; Mrs. Eva Reed, and Harry Frazier of Crown Point, Indiana; Frank Frazier of Kansas City; Mrs. Franes Benton and Mr. & Mrs. Heb Benton, Mrs. Harriet Anderson of Malvern; Mr. & Mrs. D. Roseberry and daughter of Council Bluffs; Mr. & Mrs. Kani and children of Omaha.
Services At Silver City For Mrs. Mary Frazier
Mary Frazier, 85, passed away last Friday at her home at Crown Point, Indiana. The body was brought to the Raynor Funeral home here and services were held Sunday afternoon at the Van Kirk home in Silver City, with Rev. Howard Young in charge.
Burial was made in the Silver City cemetery.
